I am really looking forward to meeting you all at the Tinahely Agriculture Show this bank holiday Monday 6th August. I hope the sun will shine and we will have lots of fun. I have FREE stickers to give away of the Farm Hero, you can get your photo taken as the Farm Hero and your mam and dad came buy a poster and signs for you on the farm.
Stay safe on the farm this Summer, Be a FARM HERO!
Hope you all enjoyed the Summer, time off school, some sunshine, long bright days and maybe a holiday. There were plenty of farming shows on around the country to enjoy, but the biggest one is yet to come, the National Ploughing Championships 2016, September 20-22nd. I look forward to that, maybe I will see you there!
Hope you had fun over the Summer playing in designated safe play areas. Did you see my farm safety poster, where you can learn some safety tips, for staying safe and recognising the symbols and colours on safety signs. I know children are the greatest learners, so great ready for the term ahead in school. Best of luck for your first day or first day back.
Hope you had a safe and happy year on the farm. Wonderful to see children teaching and learning about farm safety, especially the children at www.farmsafety4kids.net who have done a great job at getting the message out to children about farm safety.
I have been busy working on my poster, signs and stickers and have a few suggestions for a Christmas presents for the children or farmer in your life.
See our Farm Hero Pet Farm Signs at Kildare Open Farm. Meet ‘Duster’ the Ostrich, he is very lively and great fun but be careful all animals can bite. There are many animals to see at Kildare Open Farm; goats, pigs, sheep and more. Always stay with an adult on the farm, even pet farms, as our Farm Hero does. There was a beautiful foal born only recently and you can see her there, below is a picture with the mare. Enjoy a visit at Kildare Open Farm!
Wooly Ward mobile Pet Farm were at Marlay Park on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June. All the children who visited could sit down and hold a pet on their lap. There were rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ducklings and chicks. You could feed the lambs and brush the coats of the goats. There were pigs and geese and even a big Lama.
It is great to see farm animals, in a Dublin park, especially for those who don’t live on farms. There were plenty of signs to warn children and their parents that ‘animals can bite’, you can ‘only handle animals when supervised by staff’ and of course ‘wash your hands after handling the animals’. Farm Hero had a great time with all the farm animals! Thanks to Wooly Ward Mobile Farm and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council from bringing the pet farm to Marlay Park. See you again soon!
What a great day we had at Bloom in the park on Friday. We visited ‘Fun on the Farm’ and had lots of fun driving the miniature tractor around the track. We got the best goodie bag ever, with a toy tractor, trailer and car 🙂
The AgriAware area was just like being on the farm with cows, pigs, sheep and chickens, we really loved seeing all the animals there in Phoenix Park.
Last Sunday 17th May I was at the Connacht Spring Show in the Farm Safety tent. Padraic & Aoibheann from Cloghans Hill NS, Tuam, kindly invited us to show our Farm Safety Signs at their stand. Padraic & Aoibheann created the website www.farmsafety4kids.net and won a Junior Spider Award for their great work. Visit their website to learn lots about farm safety for children.
We gave out Farm Hero stickers to the children there and they seemed to really like them. We met people from the IFA, HSA, Teagasc and FRS Training and saw a live demonstration on tractor safety.
It was a great day meeting lots of people and telling them about our Farm Safety Signs and Posters. It was really great to meet Aoibheann, Padraic, Iseult and all the other children from Cloghans Hill NS, they are inspirational. #farmheros
